Social Impacts of Pokies
The Social and Economic Impact Assessment (SEIA) Framework for Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) is an online evidence base and data book for Victorian local government staff, community members and applicants to build their own social impact assessments.
Social and Economic Impact Assessments for gaming applications are complex. This Framework has been developed with the aim of creating a single resource that brings together all potential elements in one place. The Framework identifies all the indicators that may be considered within an SEIA, the evidence that supports these indicators and a link to the data source for each indicator.
This Framework was developed by the Inner Northern Working Group on Gambling – a partnership between local government and other stakeholders in the Inner Northern Melbourne Metropolitan area. Whilst it has been developed for and by Local Government areas of Darebin, Hume, Melbourne, Moreland, Whittlesea and Yarra, its application extends across the Victorian context and can be amended to be specific to each area as required.
See the User Notes under the Framework tab for more information on how to use this framework. You can also download hard copy PDFs of the Framework from downloads under the Framework tab.
